It's a soft gray-blue — Benjamin Moore's Yarmouth Blue — but it's not cold like a Swedish blue. It's a warm Mediterranean blue. It's like the watery blues you see in Venice. Doesn't it feel silvery to you? I asked the painters to do a subtle strié, so you see little streaks of dark and light. That's the way it would be in a Venetian palazzo. It's not perfect. I don't like everything perfect. The streaks and the glaze on top give it movement and life.
